This page covers the money side: the free Pro trial, how paying works, what you'll find under Plans & billing, and what happens when a plan changes or a payment fails. Prices are on the pricing page; what each plan includes is in plans and limits.
The Pro trial
Pro starts with a free trial: 14 days of the full plan, with a card taken at sign-up and nothing charged until the trial ends. Cancel any time before then and you pay nothing.
- One brand, full depth. A trial tracks one brand with everything else Pro includes: 40 questions, five competitors, Brand Narrative, AI Crawlers, alerts and Export Report. Converting to Pro raises it to three brands and three seats.
- One trial each, and it needs a confirmed email address. An account already on Free can start one. The trial is once per person, once per card, and a few per company: if colleagues at your company have already had theirs, the pricing page says so, and you can join their workspace or start on Pro straight away. A card that has already started a trial starts a paid plan instead, from that day. Companies that are really a group of separate businesses can ask support to have this lifted.
- You always know where you are. Every page shows how many days are left, and Plans & billing gives the date of the first charge.
- Brands can't be archived during a trial. Archiving frees a place, and a trial has only one.
Four emails, no surprises
- A welcome saying what to do first. If you haven't added a brand yet, that's step one, with a button straight to it. If you chose a brand on the way in, it tells you setup is already under way.
- A week before the end, with what's been found so far.
- Three days out, naming the exact amount and date of the first payment.
- When the trial finishes, either way.
Nobody is charged without being told first.
Ending a trial early, or changing course
- Seen enough? Start your subscription early from Plans & billing, or from the add-a-brand screen. The trial ends there and then: you're charged the first period and go from one brand to three.
- Prefer a different plan? A plan changed during a trial keeps the same end date, so you can move to Starter or Plus before the first payment without losing days.
- Need a second brand during the trial? An extra brand bought during a trial is charged straight away. The trial is free time on the plan, not on brands added alongside it. See managing brands.
Paying
Checkout is a page inside brandflare: what you're buying and what it costs on the left, the card form on the right. Starting a trial, it shows $0 today, the date and amount of the first charge, and when you'll be emailed before then. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach brandflare.
Starting a trial or a new plan lands you on Add a brand, since that's the next thing to do. Changing plan when you already track brands returns you to Plans & billing.
Monthly or yearly: yearly billing gives two months free on every plan.
Plans & billing
Under Settings › Plans & billing, for owners and admins. It has two tabs.
Subscription holds your plan, what you're using of it, and changing plan:
- Your plan with what the subscription actually comes to, the plan plus any extra brands. Where a discount or an agreed free period applies, it leads with what is charged next and says when full price starts.
- Brands and seats used against your limits, with Add a slot and Remove a slot for extra brands.
- The plans side by side, with a monthly or yearly choice.
Billing holds your invoices, to download, and the card on file.
Changing plan
Upgrading happens right there, with the amount due today shown before you confirm. The new limits apply at once.
Downgrading or cancelling is a request rather than a button: choose it on Plans & billing and it opens a support request, already filled in, which you can follow like any other. If the plan you're moving to tracks fewer brands than you have now, decide which to archive first.
If a payment fails
If a renewal payment fails, every page says so and offers to update the card. Checks carry on while the bank retries, rather than stopping without warning.
When a subscription ends
A cancelled plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for. After that the workspace becomes read-only: everything measured stays readable, and checks stop until a plan is chosen again. Your account remains, on Free, with the public index open to it as before.
